Smith Wins Scholarship for Beech Island Student
David Laurence Smith of Beech Island won a 3500 dollar St Andrews Presbyterian College scholarship to Laurinburg North Carolina for entering freshman status. The award requires 3.0 GPA, 1000 SAT or 23 ACT, plus extracurricular and interview criteria. The scholarship is renewable for four years with a 3.5 GPA.

Gregg Park Civic Center offers varied recreation classes
The Gregg Park Civic Center in Graniteville hosts women’s exerobic classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and evenings with Rhonda Williams and Martha Taylor. Co-ed sessions run Monday and Wednesday evenings for passholders. Senior lite classes meet Monday and Wednesday mornings. A ceramic shop operates Monday to Wednesday with a $10 annual pass. Special four season class begins April 21.
