Storm damages and outages hit Aiken area hard
Lt Jake Mahoney of Aiken Public Safety reports widespread property damage across the southside after a storm. Aiken Electric Cooperative and SCE&G outages peaked near 7000 countywide, dipping to about 4400 by 7 pm and 3700 for SCE&G, as residents log power loss and debris including a tree crushing a Chevy Silverado. Officials plan Monday damage assessments and more calls as crews inspect affected areas.
