Students To Remain In Custody In Bomb Threat Case

Midland Valley High School ninth graders Paris Simon and Robert Turner will stay in juvenile detention after Family Court Judge Peter Nuessle ruled the custody continuation necessary for the ongoing investigation. Aiken County Sheriff's Office Lt. Alicia Bodie testified the bomb has not been found despite extensive questioning of many students. The next court appearance is about 10 days away as public defenders argued for release to relatives and for a closed hearing, which was denied to maintain open proceedings.
