Vandalized Vacant House Burglarized In Aiken
A vacant rental house in Aiken was broken into and items worth about 6000 dollars removed. Glassware silverware and antique furniture damage totaled around 4000 dollars. A moped valued 575 dollars was stolen from Brenda Redd’s yard and 800 dollars of church sound equipment was taken from Friendship Baptist Church on Richland Avenue. The break ins were reported Saturday.

Aiken County Board to discuss school referendum

Guilty Pleas Heard At Court
In Aiken's General Sessions Court on Friday Gerald D. Loftis of Gloverville pleaded guilty to driving while suspended second offense and faces 30 days or a $200 fine. Otis F. County Council Considers Trash Collection Ordinance
The Aiken County Council may lease and purchase 45 forty cubic yard and 75 six cubic yard trash containers and four 1981 cab and chassis with 40 000 pounds lift capacity for a refuse collection system. The council will also consider increasing revenue for the solicitor's office and creating county positions to replace funding cuts from the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act.
