A taxpayers lawsuit challenging the legality of issuing county bonds for a new Aiken County Courthouse is awaiting signature from Resident Circuit Judge Julius B. Ness in Bamberg. Defendants likely include the Aiken County Board of Commissioners and county supervisor, with the State Attorney General also expected to be named. Plaintiff Harold C. Morris represents all property owners and taxpayers, and the suit must be resolved before bonds can be issued or sold.
The Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce endorsed the city planning program in a letter to City Manager Roland Windham.
