Editorials Question the Grief Industry After Jonesboro Shootings

LBJ Helped Humphrey Not Nixon in 1968 Campaign
Based on Robert Dallek’s biography Flawed Giant and declassified White House records, Lyndon B. Johnson did not secretly back Richard Nixon. Johnson provided Humphrey with evidence of Nixon’s efforts to sabotage peace talks, angered by Nixon’s alleged treason, and instead campaigned for Humphrey while pressing him to pursue a peacemaker stance.
