Charlie Clifton Alsbrooks 73 of Aiken passed away April 14 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He was husband to Francine Harley Alsbrooks for 43 years and father to Karene Abrams Ken Wilhelm. A memorial service Thursday April 19 at 4 pm at First Baptist Church Aiken with a reception afterward. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Kindergarten or Mead Hall Episcopal School.

William J. Weisert Sr. 43 beloved husband of Gale Weisert passed away Saturday at his residence in Euclid Ohio. He served 26 years with the Us Army National Guard, stationed with the 122d Engineer Company at Graniteville Armory. He enjoyed OSU football, Steelers fandom and cooking. Survived by wife Gale, daughter Tara Blaschak, son William Jr., father, brothers George Lon Richard, sister Karen, and many relatives. Funeral Wednesday April 18 at Langley United Methodist Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery, full military honors. Memorials to Langley United Methodist or St Marys Help of Christians. Seven inmates killed in South Carolina prison riot
Inside Lee Correctional Institution inmates armed with homemade weapons fought for hours leaving seven dead and at least 17 seriously wounded.
