Dominion SCANA deal could boost Aiken County economy
A study by University of South Carolina economist Joseph Von Nessen estimates the Dominion Energy SCANA merger could add about 2 billion to Aiken County's economy over time. He cites a 1 to 49 multiplier effect where 100 saved dollars sparks 149 dollars of new activity, with 196 billion in regional output projected and notes similar impact to a tax cut. The 14.6 billion deal includes a 1000 dollar rebate for average residential customers.
