A Sunday tornado in Sumter County left one woman dead and caused major damage to about 15 homes and businesses with another 50 sustaining minor harm. Winds near 140 mph rated F3 sliced a 14 mile by 300 yard path. Power outages affected hundreds as residents began cleanup and officials assessed the scene.
