Voters go to the polls Tuesday to choose the Republican nominee for House Seat 83. Arthur Shealy and Don Smith face off at 7 a.m. The winner meets Rev. Nathaniel Irvin, Democratic nominee, for the seat left vacant by Scott Beck’s resignation. In the primary Irvin won outright with 348 votes to 34 for Evelyn Robinson. Smith led the GOP primary with 890 votes (41 percent) and Shealy had 565 votes (31 percent).
