Bees advance near U S border as Tamaulipas rains aid
Swarms of aggressive Africanized honey bees moved within 75 miles of the United States border aided by rainy spring weather in Tamaulipas. Elba Quintero of the USDA said the trend prompted Texas lawmakers to consider emergency aid of 197000 dollars to combat the bees. In Charleston a separate incident left two people dead when struck by a southbound Amtrak train at 2 10 am as they tried to cross blocked tracks.
