Robert Morgan of the Savannah River Operations Office orders a thorough probe after two puppies were put in a freezer at the Savannah River Ecology Lab on April 1. One puppy died and the other was injured as Wackenhut Security investigates. a report is due in early May. The lab sits on SRP property but is operated by the University of Georgia.
Sen. Ryan Shealy of Lexington County seeks a pro Savannah River Plant stance in the South Carolina Republican platform. He plans to present the SRP measure at the state GOP Convention and argues federal action is needed. He claims the Democratic establishment opposes SRP despite public sentiment.
