Panthers lock in Steve Smith on 3 year extension through 2015
Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith signs a three year extension likely through 2015 with a club option for 2016. The deal is expected to guarantee about 18 million dollars, with Smith citing pride in finishing his career as a Panther alongside Cam Newton and coach Ron Rivera. Smith, 33, remains a central figure in Carolina's high octane offense after a Pro Bowl season and 10,278 career receiving yards.
