Teen on bus may face charges for shattered mirror incident
A Graniteville teenager may be charged after throwing a water balloon from a moving bus on Columbia Highway near Cumbee Trail Road. The balloon struck a UPS delivery truck mirror, causing splintered glass and minor facial injuries to the driver. Batesburg police stopped the bus until a sheriff's deputy arrived. the teen admitted throwing the item, saying he did not expect harm. Authorities will seek warrants for malicious injury to personal property and littering on a public roadway.

A Wagener man allegedly attacked a Batesburg man with a large knife at a Holder Road home after dispute over the ex wife. The 46 year old victim wrestled the knife away during a struggle, requiring stitches. No charges have been filed.
