Two Die in Fiery Wrecks in Two Counties
Two people died in separate crashes Friday in Aiken and Barnwell counties. In Barnwell, Willie Williamson, 22, of Barnwell, died after a single vehicle left Highway 37 near Elko, hit a tree and caught fire. he was not wearing a seat belt. In North Augusta, an unnamed driver of a 1988 Ford F150 died when the truck left Cherokee Drive near Sunfest Drive and struck a tree. authorities have not yet released the name. The South Carolina Highway Patrol assists both coroner’s offices in the investigations.
