New Ellenton mayor thanks Sellers for help in Dixon search

New Ellenton Mayor Paul Parker and Police Chief Van McMillan presented Sheriff Howard Sellers with plaques for the Dixon search that failed to find 86 year old Mary Alice Dixon. Cadet Selwyn DeLoach received a plaque for volunteering. The officials praised the cooperative effort and the K 9 teams and mobile command center that aided the search. DeLoach expressed interest in a law enforcement career and gratitude for the cadet program.

New Ellenton Plans 50th Birthday Celebration

New Ellenton marks its 50th anniversary with a 6:30 p.m. gospel concert on April 26 featuring the Brazells and Pure Heart hosted by the Fire and Rescue. A fireworks show follows on April 27 at 10 a.m. with a parade kickoff and calls for parade entries and residents born April 26, 1952 or those who have lived in town since April 1952.
