New SWPF project manager named at SRS
Frank Sheppard Jr. was named project manager for the Salt Waste Processing Facility at the Savannah River Site, replacing retiree Louis Jackson. He has 21 years with the federal government and previously served as Parsons deputy project manager and vice president. Construction is 84 percent complete with startup aimed for late 2018, and SWPF remains on schedule and under budget by over 40 million dollars.

A 29 year old Aiken woman was charged after striking her boyfriend with an umbrella during a daycare argument. A 44 year old New Ellenton woman was charged with shoplifting after attempting to take 94 dollars of clothing from Richland Avenue. A 61 year old Aiken man reported his son grabbed him by the throat during an argument. A Graniteville man reported a scam by someone claiming to be law enforcement. A trailer was stolen from Crestview Drive in North Augusta. A 58 year old Aiken man reported his wallet stolen from Huntcliff Trace. A Batesburg man reported vandalism including windshield damage and kerosene spills.
