Prospective bidders for a San Diego border wall prototype asked if authorities would assist during a hostile attack and whether employees could carry firearms under strict state laws. Four to ten bidders are expected to be chosen for roughly quarter mile site prototypes on federally owned land near the border with $200k to $500k per prototype. The project faces Congressional opposition while local police plan a buffer zone to ensure protest rights.
