In Greenville AP: Mary Elizabeth Simpson Hanahan daughter of William Henry Belk Simpson cited for criminal contempt for lying in a news release about her challenge to her father’s will. Two Die In Car Crash Near Aynor South Carolina
Two 21 year old men Thomas W. Sweet and Jamie B. Brown died Friday night when their car struck a tree on secondary road 132 about two miles south of Aynor in Horry County. The state Highway Patrol reported the 10 p.m. wreck.

Spartanburg Man Sentenced 12 Years In Drug Conspiracy
A 45 year old Spartanburg man, David Bell, received a 12 year federal term for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and heroin and a money laundering count. Bell and three others pled guilty in February to a nationwide drug ring operating from 1982 to 1983.
