PSC Grants $56.4 Million Hike To SCE&G

The South Carolina Public Service Commission approved a $56.4 million electric rate hike for SCE&G after 9 percent interest accrual, with a refund of about $18 million to roughly 350 000 residential customers. Refunds likely as credits on bills or checks, and the typical bill drops from 62.45 to 60.68 for 1000 kWh.

Health Fair Tomorrow Requires 4-Hour Fasting

The Aiken Community Health Fair at H Odell Weeks Activities Center on Whiskey Road runs 9 30 a m to 5 30 p m with blood chemistry testing available for a nominal fee. Cleo J. Scott former Aiken County clerk of court sued Aiken Communications Inc publishers of the Aiken Standard for damages from articles in the paper. Martha A. Dunkin, author of a letter in the Standard, was originally named a co defendant but dismissed before the settlement.
