Crescent City Playhouse recaptures ancient charm
The Crescent City Playhouse in Salley reopens after years of disrepair with a variety show attracting about half the town. Local children from Creative Dramatics Players, singers Chris Hartley and Saundra Powell, and TV personality Joe Piner performed. Visitors from nearby towns helped fund a fledgling entertainment center, amid praise for Beaufort Hartley’s restoration. A July 19 follow up show is planned, with plans for continued events and community support.
