Video Poker Operators Fail to Register with Federal Law
Thousands of South Carolina video poker operators have not registered with the Justice Department under a federal gambling device law. Only 97 operators are registered out of about 6,500 locations, prompting lawmakers and officials to question enforcement and potential penalties. Some large distributors are registered, but notable operators McDonald's Amusements of Lancaster and Dartington Music Co. remain unregistered.
