Advance 10 reports Leif Walker Earl Brown and Quince Canada have rented a room under the Red Men Hall and are equipping it for a movie show. The picture machine has arrived and work is being rushed to begin the program soon as possible. The men are capable and should make a success of the venture.
The State Board of Education adopted resolutions on October 17 1924 effective December 1 1924 guiding Boone county teachers. Rural first year graduates receive a second grade license valid statewide. Second year rural students may enter primary or intermediate courses with credit preserved and earn a first grade license. One teacher elementaries may use Nesel courses from December 1 1924 to September 1 1925 for the 1925 26 school year.
The North Christian church will start a series of morning talks on the church next Sunday with the pastor delivering the first message. Attending is urged for those who care about the church. Evening services will be evangelistic.
The Indiana Wheat Growers Association announced a second payment of 15 cents per bushel on pooled wheat stored by members. About four thousand growers received checks for grain delivered by October 8, with farm storage at 1 cent per bushel to be paid. Total payments in ten days reach about $150,000, bringing the pooled wheat payment to 85 cents per bushel, roughly matching last year. Additional payments will follow as more wheat is sold.

The Lebanon Daily Reporter reports the Chenoweth bus crash near Lebanon left three Indianapolis victims dead. Dr. E A Rainey Boone county coroner says no blame can be charged to the auto bus owner Jesse W Chenoweth and driver P C Diehl based on five witnesses testimony. James Ayers, 83, was buried at Lizton Sunday afternoon.
Mrs Quince Canada spent the weekend with her parents near Jamestown. Maud Bowman and Lowell Emmett spent Sunday in Lebanon. Arlie Hancock hosted dinner for Mrs Clara McDaniel. Emmett Bowman’s family moved into Rev DeBruler’s former house. Orin McClain visited Cyril Lafollette Saturday night. Oscar Sparks and family visited Cecil Sparks near Old Union Sunday. Rev Abbott and wife called in Advance Tuesday. Sylvia Bowman improving at John Caldwell’s home. New block building by N S Carter & Sons rising fast and may finish soon. North Christian Church dismissed for revival at East Christian and many attended evening services. A good turnout from M E church. Mr and Mrs Charles Emmert spent Sunday and Monday in Indianapolis visiting Harold Bennett and family and Stella Hurd and husband. Mr and Mrs Carl who travels for Armor and Co dined with the Emmerts. Mr and Mrs M A Fulwider were in Indianapolis Sunday. Quince Canada and Farr Waters went on a big fishing trip to Cataract south on Saturday returning Sunday craving more fish. Two small ones were the catch.
Sarah Catherine Showalter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Showalter, broke her collar bone Friday after falling from a Davenport at home. She is recovering nicely.
Witnesses say the Indianapolis to Lebanon bus traveled at a moderate speed with lights dimmed for oncoming traffic. The driver, licensed for eight years, stopped within 100 feet of the crash scene, while another witness claimed the car approached at a high speed. Postmaster B Spher and local residents mentioned in town visits as the Halloween program details unfold.
John Farrow purchased property now occupied by Charles Ross and the Ross family and by William Ross and Lester Ryan and their son John M. He spent Sunday with Andrew Harris at Burlington Truax and Thomas Caldwell and plans to move into the Truax residence. Mrs J R Giberson and family and Emerald Parma Whorley of California are visiting relatives here. Ocltt and Mrs O A Nelson traveled to Montezuma on Sunday for a cousin Otto Huff Alan H Huffman’s husband. Virgil Smith and daughter from near Waynetown visited relatives here. S Z Billingsly and Clair Bratton hosted Sunday guests Claud G Lawler has been ill this week. Paul Gregory and family with Louise Showalter and Stanley Plunkett spent Sunday in Indian.
Association officials stated the pooled wheat could be marketed advantageously when market prices were elevated, enabling better returns during peak periods.
The Darlington general store owned by A H Everson was robbed Sunday of six one dollar bills from a display window. No other items were taken, and the robbers entered through a cal chute, according to the owner.
Mrs Carrie Beaver arrived home Saturday after a three day stay in Muncie Indiana to attend the biennial meeting of the Woman's Mission Board of the Christian church.
Missavetta Emmert and Mr. Ghere of Lebanon were married by Rev. E C Geeding at East Christian church last Thursday evening. Mrs. Ghere is the daughter of Richard Emmert and has many relatives in the community.
Advance plans a large Halloween celebration by the Commercial Club with a parade at 8 30 on Main Street featuring judges and prizes. Cash awards include best masked character and best masked man or woman with multiple placements, plus prizes for oldest and youngest masked participants. If poor weather, events move to the community building. The event closes with an Advance band concert and parade leadership on Friday night October 31.
The Kentucky Jubilee Quartet will be the first act on the Lyceum course at the community building tonight. The program promises strong vocal and instrumental selections from the group.
The Sunday school class of the North Christian church met at the country home of Mrs Fannie Dean on October 22. Fourteen members attended. A plentiful potluck meal followed. The program featured songs prayers readings by Mrs Martha Ashwell and Mrs Anna Gordon and talks from each member. Rev Wyant and Mrs Wyant attended as visitors. The next meeting will be at Anna Gordons home.
The Misses Clarel and Marjorie Martin hosted Sunday school class members at their country home Friday night. The event featured a Hal Jonesen style social with games stunts and music enjoyed throughout the evening.
Margaret Beaver has suffered for several days from an infection caused by a heel blister. She is now improving nicely.
Mrs R E Walker of Huntington West Virginia arrived last Thursday evening for an extended visit with her son Leff Walker and family. Relatives and friends are glad she returned after several years apart.
