Attendance last Sunday was 139 with an offering of 5.12 dollars. Dr. Alexander’s talks inspired Advance and Old Union and a Sunday school rally is planned for November 4. The note urges regular attendees to bring visitors and aims for 200 in the school, plus weekly prayer and choir meetings.
North Christian Church reports 150 in Bible school and 625 in offering. Ladies Aid celebrated 18th anniversary with 65 attendees including 13 charter members. Morning and evening services were helpful. emphasis on larger attendance and church devotion.
Artie Brown held a general farm sale Saturday one and one half miles west of Advance. Wheat sold at 1.00 per bushel corn 30.00 per acre and rye 0.80 per bushel. Col J B Henderson cried the sale and reported strong prices as exceptional.
The sale achieved a season record with total receipts of 3,735, well above estimates. Mr. Brown, the sale organizer, plans to move to California for residence after the event.
The Advance Produce Co. relocated Tuesday to the former livery barn across the street as Mr. Babbitt’s business grew and required more space.
Mr and Mrs J W Jones of this city with Frank Jones of Frankfort traveled to Philadelphia visiting Christchurch Betsy Ross house Independence Hall and Franklin’s grave then to New York City via subway and Brooklyn Bridge The group saw the Woolworth Building and the 56 story tower before continuing to Baltimore Washington and Pittsburgh.
Jake Waters and his wife visited Tuesday with Otis Wall and his wife, sharing social greetings and updates.
John Whitecotton and wife spent Sunday with Farr Waters and wife. Ronald Ross was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ross Monday.

Mr and Mrs W B Epperson and Mr and Mrs H C Epperson visited W C Deck near Martinsville. Deck described as very ill. Virgil Vanhorn and daughter Helen from Whitestown visited weekend. Mrs Cecil Burris and Mrs Oris Ashwell shopped in Lebanon. Robert son of Ernest Delano had tonsil and adnoids operation at Longs hospital. Local gatherings included Sunday school and a visit with Mrs James Ashwell. Several college boys home for weekend. Chas Fulwider of Vincennes visited his parents Robt and Mrs Fulwider. dune Shera near Lebanon stayed with Thora Melson. they traveled to Indianapolis. Mr and Mrs Carl Bowman and Roy Melson attended Noblesville church meeting with V P Brock assisting. Mr and Mrs Andrew Waters of Danville Ill visited Jake Waters and wife. Mrs Ethel Martin and children near Market spent weekend with Chas Rohn family.
Mrs. Jack Shain and family spent Sunday with Mrs. H. Smiley, near Lebanon, in a local social gathering noted in community notes.
Otis Wall and wife entertained at dinner Sunday with Joe Wall and wife Carmen Ross and family Ivan Wall and family and Lelan Wall and wife. Reev Wyatt and family were dinner guests of Ray Davis and family Tuesday. Tom Fine and family of Jamestown spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Artie Weldon.
Sylvan Yager of Terre Haute spent part of last week visiting his mother.
Franklin Jones son of Mr and Mrs Chas Jones of near Moorsville was injured last Saturday night when a machine overturned on the way home from a Plainfield ball game. He was thrown against a telephone pole breaking his leg but is reported to be progressing nicely.
Mrs E H Hypes and family and Mrs Ollie Piersol spent Sunday with Virgil Vanhorn and family at Whites town.
Santford Caplinger and Ivan visited Lebanon with Mrs. Lon Caplinger while other gatherings included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reese with Ed Jackson, Mrs. Carrie Routh hosting several couples and families near Lebanon and Advance, and multiple Sunday calls around Brownsburg Jamestown Goodland and Whitestown. Nancy Whitecotton is reported on the sick list.

Miss Fannie Reed daughter of Mr and Mrs Ora Reed married Mr M C Ware of Franklin Indiana Thursday noon in Indianapolis First Baptist Church. Rev O R McKay officiated. Attendants were Miss Marjorie Cox Crawfordsville and Miss Forrest Reed. Mr Ware directs Manual Arts and the Masonic High School at Franklin. Mrs Ware teaches in Advance public school. They will reside in Franklin.
Sunday guests included Dr. W. S. Alexander and Rev. Geeding and family. Clair Bratton worked at the feed store in Indianapolis last week. Byron Sering sold his radio gear to Brewer Demaree and will install a new set. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nicely visited Indianapolis. Mrs. Geo Shaw of Lebanon is ill. Earless began work at Jamestown for Hickman and Wall. Mr. and Mrs. Carmonoss were in Indianapolis on business. Ora McDaniel led the funeral of Mrs. Clay Kennedy of near Montclair Monday.
Lowell Russell and Wanda Plunkett visited near New Market Sunday with Mrs. Mary Jane Plunkett and son Frank. Mrs. Alice Yager and Mrs. Henry Frazier hosted gatherings Tuesday and Wednesday with guests including Mrs. Harry Skirrvin of Farmers City and others from Texas Terre Haute and Lebanon.

Caplinger Bowman offers Fried man Shelby Red Goose shoes for boys and rubber footwear.
Lawrence Riner hosted a Sunday gathering with guests including Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Johnson of near Lebanon Mr. Harry Johnson of Indianapolis Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bush of near Ward Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stant and family of near Jamestown and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riner.
Mr and Mrs Jease Emmett hosted a chili supper last Wednesday evening with guests including Mr and Mrs Mark McDowell Mr and Mrs Ed Hamilton and Mr and Mrs Raymond Faulkinbury.
Eunice Ross, a teacher at the Soldiers and Sailors Orphan Home in Knightstown, speaks warmly of her role. The institution houses 318 pupils with staff, farm and factory supervisors, and offers trades training, religious instruction, and moral formation. Ross teaches history English and Bible in a setting featuring a printing office and various businesses.
W S Alexander, president of Union Christian College, spoke at Old Union Saturday night and Sunday. He delivered an excellent sermon at East Christian on Sunday morning and another at Old Union Church Sunday night.
