Rev Rector and Minister Johnson lead services with a planned Christmas program after a Sunday School meeting. Attendance listed at 120 with 189 in offering. a county board meeting may be held in February after Lebanon talks. Engagements include Ladies Aid event next Thursday and a December 3 banquet speaker.
Emory Proffitt and family visited Dick Emmett and family in Lebanon Sunday. Mrs. Jennie Morrison hosted the East Christian Church Missionary meeting at Advance last Wednesday. Grace Edrington stayed Friday night with Miss Bessie Conner. Cecil Broshar and family were visited by Emory Proffitt and family. Sunday evening visitors from Flora included Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hendrix, with Thomas Hendrix and family. Guy Hoovermale of Russellville spent weekend with the Shalley family. Tibitha Newman of Indianapolis visited Wilbert Newman and family from Friday to Tuesday. Jerry Camp and Charles Sheets of Colfax spent Sunday with Wilbert Newman. Lawrence and Orville Dean are taking a rheumatism course with Lawrence Newman. Roy Molson did business in Indianapolis Tuesday. Mrs. Glenn Waters and baby stayed with D. D. Budd and family in Lebanon. Waters suffers from a felon on her finger. A 73‑pound pumpkin, grown by Eddie Seaton, was the town’s largest on display at McClaine’s. The Family Record urges another group photo to avoid a missing image. A new line of holiday folders and mounts is advertised for Christmas photos.
A man named John Sandy suffered a broken right arm weeks ago while cranking an automobile and a recent gasoline engine kick fractured his left arm. He cannot feed himself though able to walk, leaving him seriously incapacitated.
The K of P lodge hosted a full house Monday night with all chairs in use. Work was assigned to third rank and apples were served. The lodge will reconvene December eighth.
Proffitt of North Salem recounts an overnight bank robbery he witnessed and survived. He describes bandits entering the bank with a Winchester, tying Rolla with wire, and later sharing cookies while Proffitt freed himself and alerted authorities. No trace had been found.
