Two Runaway Girls Apprehended by Sheriff Wren
The Crawfordsville Journal reports two teenage girls Haarliorn and Rider aged fifteen and seventeen ran away Thursday evening toward Danville. Sheriff Wren of Montgomery County located them near Wayne town and Hillsboro and brought them home. One had recently been released from the Girls Industrial School in Indianapolis and both were described as troubled, carrying powder and intending to see the country before their capture.

The Rev. William Manford Welker died at 1 45 pm Wednesday May 8 at his Jackson township home from pulmonary tuberculosis. He was 55 years 7 months 19 days, born Sept 19 1866 in Johnson County Kentucky. He married Rhoda Lutishia Cole Feb 28 1877 in Johnson County Kentucky. children Herbert Littleton Walker Ada Walters and Mrs Lou Sageaves. Surviving siblings are James and John Walker in Kentucky and Mrs Victoria Williams and Mrs Mollie Stapleton in Kentucky. He belonged to the Van Lear Kentucky Methodist Church and the Masonic lodge at East Point Kentucky. Funeral services were held Friday at 10 am at the M E church conducted by Rev Francis. Interment followed in Old Unies cemetery.
