Alabama Prices Beat Indiana For Milk And Eggs

Lee Gill writes from near Whistle Alabama describing his father Sam Gill milking fourteen cows and selling sweet milk at 60 cents per gallon buttermilk at 30 cents and eggs at 45 cents per dozen. He travels to market in a Flivver three times a week and notes zero weather last winter with plans to plant corn now.

Birthday Celebration for Mrs Niceley at John Nicely Home

Clay Sheets, Lyle John and families, and Clair Leeke with their relatives spent Sunday at John Nicely's residence to celebrate Mrs Niceley's birthday. The gathering was joyful and she received many presents. Mrs Niceley claimed it marked her 15th birthday, though the claim invites doubt.

Lebanon High wins district title in fast tourney final

After a mediocre season Lebanon High School found its stride in the sectional final defeating Advance 27 to 23. Led by Lasley Clemens Cook Havens and Harlan the Lebanon defense outshone its season, building momentum with a 10 to 5 halftime lead and drawing the largest tourney crowd.

Obituary of Emily Naomi Beaver of Henry and Boone Counties

Emily Naomi Beaver daughter of James W and Sally Jones was born November 14 1853 in Henry county Kentucky later moving to Boone county. She married J B in 1871 and joined Pisgah Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. She died February 27 1924 at age 70 years 3 months and 14 days leaving a husband two sons Ora H and Austin J two daughters Ida B Joseph and Laddie Fulwider twelve grandchildren five brothers and two sisters The funeral was at North Christian church by C L Airhart with Geo Wyatt assisting Burial followed at Pisgah.

Birth and Death of Opal Faye Hedge in Indiana

Opal Faye Hedge, born June 13 1902 in Hendricks County Indiana to David and Laura Hedge, died February 26 1924 at her Advance Indiana home at 21 years, 8 months, 13 days. She married Basil H Smith on August 3 1921, aided by a faith in Christ and service as a Sunday school teacher. Her husband’s parents Ollie and Mrs Smith were a source of joy, and her father died earlier. She is laid to rest after a life of religious devotion and family ties.

Seventy five thousand Knights of Pythias in Indiana prepare five regional meetings March 10 to 14 to honor the Rathbone Bible. The talismanic book, gifted by the mother of Justus H. Ladoga Couple Wed At Whitestown Home In Quiet Ceremony

Albert Alfrey and Josie Gray of Ladoga Indiana were married last night at Prof Caplinger home in Whitestown with Rev Ora McDaniel officiating. Alfrey, a Ladoga National Guard lieutenant, served 2.5 years in Europe in WWI. The bride, a Ladoga High School alumna, plans to reside in Ladoga. A six o'clock dinner followed. no guests due to Prof Caplinger's niece death. A benefit play for Ladies Aid Society set for Saturday night March 8. Admission 15 and 25 cents.
