A community notes a successful Vacation Bible School and a well received Friday night plays program. Organizers thank numerous generous contributors whose efforts reflect local spirit and cooperation.
In Harrison and Perry townships a Klan event will feature an Americanization speech at the New Brunswick school grounds on Tuesday night June 26 at 8 30. A Klan parade and band will accompany the procession with all Klan trimmings. The organizers claim this rural demonstration is the first of its kind in the United States. Attendees are urged to bring chairs as seating will not be provided.
A Klan parade is planned in Crawfordeville Friday night and another in Brownsburg Saturday night. Prof Caplinger plans to move this week. A N Lewis formerly of Advance, now in Indianapolis at the Methodist Hospital, is weakening from cancer of the bowels. For sale 150 bushels corn by Ora McDaniel. The season’s largest band crowd heard Saturday night and band programs show improvement. Robt Fulwider and Mrs Robt Fulwider moved to Muncie Sunday with Willis Fulwider and wife, who has a drug store job. they visited Wm Samuels. James Gordon and Mrs Albert Rightenour attended Mrs Wilhoite’s funeral at Hall. Robt Fulwider drove them. Missionary offering at Mont Clair was 40 and 91 at New Brunswick. Charley Graham and wife near Max done much paper hanging. local hangers Hamilton Bros and others are busy.
Claude Lawler and family of New Augusta visited over Sunday while Terre Haute guests Sylvan Yager and family stayed with Mrs. Alice Yager. Austin Beaver hosted at dinner. many local families, including Fulwider, Beaver, Nicely, Canada, and Sandlin, joined. Captain Eugene Larl Heath heads to Camp Knox for two weeks with the Officers Reserve Corps as Mrs Heath and their son visit relatives in Southern Indiana.
Charley Abrams and William Bear created a memorial epitaph for Bob Reed on a dirt mound in front of Smith's garage where a gasoline tank was being excavated. Reed had them arrested before Squire Ogborn and they were fined ten dollars and five cents each.
Mrs Ora Beaver postmaster receives from W Irving Glover a proposed postoffice creed approved by the department. The creed urges citizens to prepare mail properly and fully prepaid, with legible addresses, room numbers for office buildings, sender details, and careful packing to aid government efficiency.
A columnist warns that fake measures and fiat currency erode value. An anecdote from a deceitful basket seller explains how hidden bias lowers buyers' force, then compares it to currency manipulation by politicians. The piece argues landowners demand more paper dollars to equal a gold value, eroding farmers' real worth.
Mrs Jennie Sterrett and Miss Lena Jackson visited and stayed with local families while Prof Caplinger and family joined Rev B A Hartley and others for dinner. The Providence Sunday school forms a social unit as Class No 1 meets with over 30 attendees. An American flag gift from A R Peterson of New Ross is welcomed by Boy Scouts. Other items include fishing exploits by Lloyd Gordon in Michigan and several weekend guests from Indiana, New Brunswick, and Indianapolis.

Sunday services include morning and evening sermons by Dr. Leazenby and the pastor. Battle Ground activities receive praise with printed programs from the pastor. Summer School of Missions runs July 9 13, Epworth League Institute July 16 22, Sunday School Training Conference July 23 28, and Battle Ground Camp Meeting July 25 August 5 with Layman's Day August 2. Garret Biblical Institute hosts pastors July 30 August 18. Young people attend Lebanon conference next Wednesday and Thursday with Esther Morrison and Rev dartley on the program.
Sunday offerings totaled to be reported next week while the morning session raised eighteen dollars thirty one cents. Rev Hartley Mrs McClaine and Mrs Brown work on state Sunday School Convention data. Caplinger family departure noted. Children’s day program delighted a large crowd despite small participants. Mesdames Smith Cunningham host Cradle Roll Mothers and babies. Wm Lasley elected president of the official board replacing Carmen Caplinger who moves to Whitestown. Prof Caplinger and family Mr Higgins and Katherine Alfrey dined with Rev and Mrs Hartley. Carrie Beaver travels to Manson to assist Friday afternoon.
North Christian Church reports Bible school attendance of 140 with offerings of 5.79 dollars. Two services were held Sunday with strong fellowship. Executive committee named Hattie Graham Maud Melson Cora Nelosa Lawson Brown Thomas Burrin and Geo D Wyatt. Women’s Society elected new officers Nancy Wyatt Maud Melson Adah Frazier Carrie Routh Rose Caldwell. Junior Band and youth groups surpassed targets as the church prepares for fall revival.
Locals share family visits including Rosa Burris hosting two daughters of Alva Cory and Harley Golliday, and Thelma Foster Tull moving to Farm ers City Illinois. Arthur Lollar’s family spent Sunday with Dora Davis, and Rev Hartley to give an Americanism address at Elizaville next Monday night. FE A Canada and family visited Mary Canada, while Charlie Traux and family spent Sunday with Bert Jeguson.
