Next Sunday the pastor preaches at Old Union in morning and evening. Arrangements are under way for a union baptismal service between Advance and Old Union with several candidates to be baptized. Time and place to be announced at the Sunday school hour. All are welcome. E. C. Geeding, Pastor.
The Cradle Roll began in 1908 with 142 entries and 24 presently. First listed was Eulis J. Sheets born January 21, 1908, last Mary Helen Caldwell born April 6, 1924. Three deaths include John H. McClaine Mildred Em mert and Donald Eugene Leeke. Three unknown men broke into the Jake Cain garage and blacksmith shop near Shannondale around 10:00 PM. Cain fired into the air as the trio fled, leaving behind an Auburn Six touring car with dynamite fuses and crow bars. The car title listed John F. Lawson of Indianapolis. Local residents and a police officer are noted, along with several social updates from the area.

Lebanon churches will give unqualified support to the Lebanon Chautauqua to be held in Memorial Park July 9 12, backing the event with community endorsement and organization.
Long anticipated dreams of a modern school building will soon come true. A deep four inch well is near completion to furnish water for the building. Drinking fountains will be placed on every floor. A complete toilet system will be installed. A sizable sum will be expended to make the building convenient.
The ticket selling committee of city churches plans a Monday canvass to promote summer school attendance. They aim to sell 200 tickets per church, totaling 1000, with Rev DeBruler traveling to DePauw University for two weeks of theology studies and Mrs DeBruler and children visiting Indianapolis. No services at M E church during the period.
Smallpox at Knightstown delayed activities but the committee led by Miss Eunice Ross plans next season. Directors and committee members from churches and the Soldiers and Sailors Orphan Home discuss the Chautauqua program with five days of attractions, speakers S Parkes Cadman and Strickland Gillilan, musical acts, and the Bennett Dramatic Company performing Peg O My Heart.
A. W. Porter announces that rebates totaling 3410 dollars have been mailed to farmers via the Producers Commission Association. Checks ranged from six cents to fifty eight dollars. Irregularities or missing payments should be reported to the county secretary. Local social notes follow with visits among residents and a note that no church service was held Sunday night due to Dover Children's Day exercises. Cradle Roll Rally Day is set for Thursday June 19 at 1 30 p m.
The K of P lodge and the Red Men lodge plan a Memorial service next Sunday at North Christian Church at 2:00 PM. Rev. G D Wyatt will give the address. Graves will be decorated Sunday morning and members are urged to attend the afternoon service.
The Gleaners Sunday School class met Thursday afternoon with Mrs Leona Alexander. Attendees included Mrs Clara Gregory Mrs Laura Cain Mrs Lula Fendley and daughter Dortha Mrs Melia Goodwin Mrs Edna Crim Mrs Aletha Price and daughter Mabel Mrs Laura Taylor Mrs Pauline Butler and son Billy. Mr and Mrs Oat Bowen and John Brown visited Thomas Fendley Tuesday. Mr and Mrs John Sloan visited their daughter Mrs Homer Bevington and daughters Mary Edith and Loleta on Wednesday.
Hugh Riddle and family visited Mrs. Carrie Ruth and George Kersey Sunday. Miss Mary Jenkens of Lebanon attended the band concert here Saturday. Mrs. Charles Rohn and Ralph Rohn with family returned to Tell City after a two week visit. Mr. and Mrs. Wm Caldwell went to Morgan County to see Mrs Caldwell's ill father. Walter Bowman returned home after a week with grandmother Mrs Wm Rusk near Waveland. Mr and Mrs Thomas Rohn and Mrs Wm Rohn spent Sunday at Mr Rohn's Hendricks County farm. In Indianapolis, Herald Ennett and Eugene, and Mr and Mrs Orval Robinson and son Ronald, were weekend guests of Charles Emmett. Tom Gregory and wife of Ladoga visited Tuesday.
