Grade Declama tion Contest Honors Given at High School
The grade declamation contest was held last Friday night in the high school assembly. Thirty contestants from five to eighth grades competed for gold and silver medals in four groups. Prizes were awarded by judges Rev W W Speer Peors Pries and Soon Stansell with winners including Leaton Day Ar belt Hypa Gladys Stoop Lela Emmert Howard Burria Brower Demaree Victoria Proffitt Daisy Imblr and more as spectators enjoyed the girls chorus and bel canto performances.

On Wednesday afternoon the Women's Missionary Society of the Christian church held a public meeting. Mrs W H Hendershott of Lebanon gave the afternoon address in splendid manner. Maude Melson sang a splendid solo, visitors were escorted to the basement, light refreshments were served, and all enjoyed the afternoon.
