Church Notes at Old Union Report Strong Meeting
Sixteen persons joined the church as the Old Union meeting closed Sunday evening. A good spirit prevailed and 103 were in Sunday school last week. Officers for the Junior department will be elected next Sunday morning to be fully organized. There will be preaching at Old Union Sunday morning and at Advance in the evening. The Advance Cradle Roll has a separate room and will be equipped with toys beds chairs for the little folks. Mrs Jennie Morrison is superintendent. A large audience attended Advance Christmas Eve exercises with an excellent program. E C Geeding Pastor.

North Christian Church Service and Farewell Salute
The North Christian Church schedules Bible school at 9:30 and worship at 10:30 with the sermon Lord, Thy Will Be Done, and benediction at 11:15. An evening service is at 7:00. The Ladies Aid meets in regular session with no Bible study this week. A December 19 reception honored Mr and Mrs Wall and daughter as they depart for Campbellsburg Indiana where he will pastor.

Faulkinbury Hosts Annual Christmas Dinner at Max Max

Later a wireless states the turkey and canned fruit were furnished by Mr. Curtis a bachelor of Morgan county who is searching for a wife and offers the Hustler a reward if a partner is found. Funeral of Alvah Broderick preached at New Brunswick by Ora McDaniel. He rode into the community on horseback at 18 and was junior of Brunswick church for 35 years. The Hustler receives subscriptions from John Freestone of Pendleton Oregon and his sister Mrs Margaret Lasley of Cloverdale. John sends cheer to friends. This issue ends a year of Hustler service with 52 issues printed in 1923 and 48 issues for 1924 for one dollar. Guy Morrison and family visited J A Morrison and wife and a ill sister.

Advance Citizen Jacob Waters Dies at 71
Jacob Warner Waters a longtime Advance resident and skilled harness maker died at his home Sunday at 5 AM after a long illness. Born January 9 1854 near North Salem he married Julia Smith in 1880. Surviving are eight children including Arden Glen Nina Fay Floyd Arcil and others. he was the last of twelve siblings. He lived in Advance most of 24 years except nine months in another city. A band musician and singer of some note, he was esteemed as a hard working craftsman.
