Bethany School of Methods plans September graduation event
The Advance Christian Church led by Pastor G Kelley notes Sunday school attendance last Sunday and a collection of 3.07 dollars. Commencement exercises for Bethany School of Methods graduates are set for the second Sunday night in September. Basement renovations have begun to improve class areas.

The season will be held in the school yard at 7 30 next Sunday evening with Rev W P Kibbey preaching. Weather threats last Sunday caused a large crowd to disperse and services to be canceled. Special music is likely planned for next Sunday.

Mrs Isaac Wells Dies by Suicide at Home in James Town Area
Mrs Isaac Wells, 60, died by hanging at her home northwest of Jamestown on Wednesday at eight p m. The cause is not known. She is survived by her husband and three children Mrs Roxie Revercomb of Cincinnati and Earl and Granville of the county. Funeral arrangements not yet made.

Whiteley Family Holds Fifth Annual Reunion
The Whiteley family held its fifth annual reunion at Pearl Whitely’s home in town last Sunday with about fifty members attending. Attendees brought baskets and a plentiful dinner followed by the meal. The next reunion will be at Ray Whiteley’s home near Whitesville on the fourth Sunday in August. Next year the Airhart family will be invited to attend. Frank Whiteley was elected president and Chase McClaine secretary for the coming year.

Superintendent Perry Pointer announces the employment of Mr A H Nelson of Indiana to teach Latin and fogfish at the local high school. Mail Carriers Win Route Length Based Pay Amendment
Rural carriers across the country influence the House to amend the Sims railway mail pay bill. The new schedule pays by route length with Indiana carriers largely joining the protest. Rates start at 1200 for 94 miles plus six days weekly, scaling down to 480 for routes under six miles.

The third annual Wright McCammon family reunion took place August 23 at Jan Meadows home near Advance. About 60 attended for a noon dinner followed by an afternoon program of scripture, recitations, and music. Officers and committees were elected and a collection was taken. Next gathering planned for the fourth Sunday in August 1915.
