Trial opens in McKinley case with Czolgosz pleads not guilty

Tragic buggy death in Detroit area during squirrel hunt
Detroit on Sept 24 marks a fatal accident when J J Gies was instantly killed by an accidental shotgun discharge while returning from a nut gathering drive in a double seated buggy on Six Mile road. His wife Mrs Gies and relatives accompanied him. coroner ruled no inquest. Also noted a separate obituary for M Wallace Bullock, a lawyer, who died of typhoid fever at Harper hospital after plans to seek land lottery in Oklahoma fell through. Bullock's remains were shipped to Howell for burial.
