Three Adrian Hunters Killed in Car Train Crash
Three night shift workers from Adrian, Louis Schweikert Edwin Hunt and William McKimmy, were killed when their car was struck by an eastbound New York Central train two miles east of Hudson as they returned from a pheasant hunting trip. The accident occurred on a gravel road near the Old Will Carleton farm, with witnesses noting the crossing whistle. The victims were 33, 32, and 21, from Adrian addresses, leaving behind families and a dog killed in the wreck. The conductor and engineer were J Geiser and G Z Soldwond of Toledo.
