The Defense Plants Corporation released up to 50 units of Deerfield Park housing for war workers besides Bohn Aluminum & Brass Plant No. 24 staff. Ralph Carr, manager, said Bohn workers will have first chance at housing. Of 100 units turned over, 55 new are occupied and 28 expected to be occupied soon. 17 remain vacant with some reserved for Bohn employees. Bohn recruiters operate in Oklahoma as more arrivals are anticipated. Deerfield Park houses 186 residents including 82 children under ten, and a Sunday school class for youngsters has been organized.

Series of brilliant victories announced in Southwest Pacific
Allied airmen under Lt Gen George C Kenney reported a string of victories Friday and Saturday. They claimed 92 planes shot down and 12 destroyed on the ground, with 24 more likely shot down and 19 likely damaged on the ground. Oro Bay losses included 26 bombers and 20 fighters, while other battles near Finschhafen Madang and Wewak yielded numerous enemy aircraft destroyed.
