Charles Mitchell 76 of Metamora Ohio died after driving onto Ohio and Michigan railroad tracks at around 2 pm and being hit by an eastbound freight train. He lived on a farm west of Metamora. survived by three sons Carl Fred and Bert and a sister Dora Fenton. Funeral planned at Metamora Methodist Church with burial in Amboy cemetery. Lenawee county library seeks 3028 dollar request in 1942 report

Adrian Soldier Earns Medal for Flight Heroism
Corporal Clarence E. Bauer son of Mr and Mrs John J Bauer of 933 South Main Street was awarded the Soldier's Medal for heroism near Sarasota Florida on April 3.
