John Karl aged 73 or more, father of Officer George Karl, suffered a serious fracture of the left thigh when a bicyclist struck him from the rear on a Toledo and Locust street walk on Sunday morning. Witnesses saw the rider named as George Hammer. Karl was taken to 13 Comstock street, treated by Drs. Kirkpatrick and Andrews, and rests unevenly after the incident.
