Big Wreck on Great Northern near Blair Montana Sunday morning leaves ten dead and thirty eight seriously injured when an extra freight collides with a work train. Survivors face grim aftermath as investigations begin.
Washington reports the Hay-Pauncefote treaty was signed to replace the failed first treaty. Britain withdraws from joint neutrality guarantees, leaving the United States as sole guarantor. Niles Michigan November 13 A police officer Jacob J Alery issued a duel challenge to F W Cook editor of the Niles Daily Star. Weapons revolvers ten paces. The town fears a pistol duel as Mayor Baldwin had begun a crackdown on drum bazaars and Alery patrols closing hours. Cook responds with sharp columns and the community awaits the crack of shots.

Madisonville Kentucky November 19 A battle at Providence left Garrett Givens a Black man from Madisonville dead and Bud Couch mortally wounded. Both were union supporters in the Darby attack. About 1000 shots were fired in the combat. Soldiers guard Providence under County Judge Hall and Sheriff Sutton. Additional troops likely. One Providence Coal Co mine operates while the main mine remains idle after the fighting and mule losses.
