More than 150 dairy farmers from Van Camp local of the Michigan Milk Producers Association met in the circuit court room last night to demand a higher price for milk. They backed their demand with a resolution calling for diverting milk away from retail fluid sale on the Detroit market until $4 a hundredweight for 35 milk at the farm is received.

Adrian merchants decided at Chamber of Commerce meeting there will be no grand opening for the Christmas shopping season. Stores will stay open two evenings before Christmas on December 22 and 23 until 9 p.m., and on December 24 until 6 p.m. Clerks and employers may celebrate Christmas Eve with their families. The group will discuss Thursday afternoon hours under the 45 hour law later, but most stores are expected to remain open Thursday afternoons.
