Schools Drop All Activities Requiring Travel

Adrian public schools suspend all activities requiring students to travel for the duration of the war. Buck Deer Seen North of Adrian

Kenny Ruesink and his son Floyd spotted a six point buck in a field north of Adrian this morning. The deer lay within about 30 rods of the house, then moved south toward the Norton Baker farm, though no gun was present during the closed season.

Desert air victory credited to Second Lieut Campbell

Lenawee Patriotic League drive nears top total

Industrial workers in Lenawee county boosted the Patriotic League fund from 10349 to 19024 with nine more plants audited. Contributions from Fire side Industries, H W Tuttle, Kriegholf, Michigan Producers Dairy, Oliver Instruments, Simplex Adrian and Palmyra plants, Stubnitz Greene, and the Hard Lock Co. led the surge. Neighborhood canvassing continues as rural areas pledge steadily to meet county quotas and reach the war chest goal.

Lenawee motorists to register for gasoline books next week

Lenawee county war price and rationing board announced registration for gasoline rationing will run November 13 and 14 in county schools from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily with Adrian as a hub. Applicants must bring filled forms listing name, address, license number, model, make, body type, and serial numbers of the fires.

Nazis Hurl Fresh Troops At Russians In Stalingrad Fight

Moscow dispatch reports fresh German regiments attacking the factory district of Stalingrad as the siege enters its 73rd day. Four Men Questioned In Wreck Near Siena Heights Road

Four young men from Britton and Petersburg were questioned by Prosecuting Attorney L. J. Hammond after a night wreck of a 1942 automobile east of Siena Heights road near Adrian. Audley Craig 18 and Robert Miller 19 of Britton and Carl Burgard 18 with Donald Logan 20 of Petersburg were taken to Adrian for interrogation after confessing the car owned by Craig had been brought from Britton Tuesday for repairs.
