Lenawee Supervisors Go For County Sanitary Code
Lenawee county supervisors voted to have the health department draft a county wide sanitary code for June session. The measure aims to curb sewage contamination chiefly at Devils Lake and empower townships to enact rules under home rule. The board also sent a delegate to the state board of equalization to contest the proposed tax increase and prepared for a May 2 tax sale with 27 of 74 parcels sold for 1818 dollars. A new 50 star flag was raised in the supervisors room as Hawaii nears statehood on July 4. The board adjourned to June 8 and hosts a Ninth District meeting June 1.
