County office sees record license plate sales 2029 sets

The county distributor reported 2029 license plates sold Saturday marking the biggest day on record. A long queue formed from 10 30 a m to mid afternoon as the March 1 deadline approached. Discrepancies in envelope and plate numbers caused about 50 plates to be reissued. The largest single order was 250 plates for a large company. police will not arrest drivers with 1941 plates before Tuesday if they are en route to obtain new licenses.

William Drefke 41 of Riga township died at 11 30 am at Bixby hospital from injuries suffered in a 7 30 pm Saturday collision at Berkey and Ogden Center roads south of Bissfield. Adrian laundryman hangs self in back room

Yee Hung Fot a 5 year old Chinese man and distant Yee Sing cousin, committed death by suicide this morning in the back room of the Adrian laundry at 218 West Maumee Street. Coroner Dr. Mott and city police found him about 7:30 a.m. hanging from a rafter with an electric cord. Fot was fully dressed except shoes, having jumped from a low box. No inquest will be held. funeral plans await locating relatives in Detroit. Fot had lived at the laundry for about three months and slept with Yee Sing. authorities taking steps to contact family. The body remains at Mott Funeral Home.
