Pekin July 28 The Russian administration of New Chwang has halted shipments of wheat to Japan and barred export from Chinese ports. A prohibitory order was issued by Russian officials. General Kondrédovitch now commands six armed river boats on the Liao, signaling continued effort to retain New Chwang and river control. Large numbers of Russian civilians and soldiers' families are being moved into Manchuria as part of a likely colonization plan, with an estimated 24 000 civilians in the region by the next evacuation date.

WARDEN OF FORESTRY NAMED FOR MICHIGAN

Lost Medal Returned to Him on Malvern Hill Battlefield
G W Arms of Portland, Maine, lost a silver medal at Malvern Hill in 1862 when a shell struck his cartridge box near Richmond. The medal, given by General Phil Kearney for bravery, was recovered forty years later by a Richmond editor and returned to Arms in pristine condition, bearing his name, address, company, and regiment.

Woman Shot Him Near Grand Haven in Neighbor Quarrel
A shooting affray in Robinson township ten miles from Grand Haven left Joseph Wax with a serious bullet wound in the right shoulder after he confronted neighbor Mrs. Rudolph Stephany who came to his home with a revolver and pitchfork. She died immediately when Wax appeared, ending a neighbor dispute.

Burglary at New Baltimore Creamery Stuns Town
A New Baltimore creamery was broken into in the night and 100 pounds of butter stolen.
