Blissfield, July 15 Special to The Telerzzad The Blissfield sugar plant of the Great Lakes Sugar Co will close due to a beet crop shortfall caused by an extremely wet spring. A survey by A C Toost found only about 15 000 tons of beets feasible this year, far below last year’s 133 371 tons. Contracts with 17 growers will be affected. 700 Mexican seasonal workers will be reallocated. Growers may deliver beets to Blissfield or Findlay and Fremont plants. mileage will be paid.
