Queer elopement ends with Chicago pairs marriage
Port Huron Michigan July 9 one of the strangest elopements in criminology history. Mrs Philip Katz of Chicago fled with her own brother Charles Steinmann also of Chicago. Katz and two daughters traveled from Chicago seeking his wife. Police traced the couple to Sarnia where Steinmann registered as husband and wife. Katz, a Hebrew, left his eight children behind while Steinmann deserted four. The pair had tried to cover their tracks in Barna and then moved on to another Canadian point. Katz returned to Chicago and plans to turn the case over to police.
