Lieut Ivor Kitterman 24 died Jan 24 in a collision of two aircraft at Victoria Texas. He lived with Mr and Mrs Felix Witt near Jasper for 2½ years before joining the Army Air Corps in January 1942. He married Doris McCann of Lake Charles in October 1942. His parents Mr and Mrs Guy Kitterman live in Ottumwa Iowa. He had worked in Michigan for the DeKalb Agricultural Association and had many friends in Michigan and northern Ohio. He planned to make his home here after the war.

Explosion Burns Fatal to Riga Girl
Miss Emma Ruth Mason, 14, daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul Mason of Riga, died at Bixby hospital after kerosene exploded while she tried to rekindle a fire at their farm home three miles south and one mile west of Riga. The blaze destroyed the basement and she suffered severe burns. funeral services are planned at Tazfold Funeral Home Blissfield and United Brethren church with burial in Riga cemetery. She leaves parents, a sister Betty Jane of Toledo, a brother George, grandfather T E Rinehart and grandmother Mrs Emma Mason, plus aunts and uncles.

A two story frame house at Jasper owned by George Higley and occupied by Mr and Mrs Clarence DeLaney and two children was damaged by a stove explosion at 5 o clock yesterday afternoon. The Adrian rural fire department used chemicals and booster water to control the blaze though the house and its contents were badly damaged. The loss to the house is not yet estimated and furniture was not insured.

DETROIT Feb 2 The 1941 barber shop act fixing minimum haircut prices and regulating shop hours was ruled unconstitutional by Circuit Judge Fred S Lamb of Cadillac.
