Farm Home Burned in Onsted Michigan Blaze

Fire destroyed the spacious home of Marcis Brooks near Stoddard about five miles southwest of Onsted. The blaze began around 12:50 AM, clothing and winter supplies were lost, insurance of 800 dollars with Farmers Mutual. Prisoner Wounds Sheriff in Grand Haven Jail Escape

In Grand Haven Michigan William Wilson Allan Frank Harris and partner John Quinn attempted an escape from the county jail. Wilson shot Sheriff Dykhuis in the jaw and fired at the deputy but was overpowered by the deputy and returned to the jail. The sheriff’s wound is painful but not fatal.
