Nearh, from St Clair County to tonia prison for seven years, is gravely ill and released to go to the soldiers home. Charles E Prince, from Kent County to Jackson prison in 1896 for burglary ten years. Claude Faery, from Genesee County to Jackson prison in 1901 for arson three and a half years. Dwight, an escaped Jackson state prison convict, was recaptured near Eaton Rapids with Bert Collins and Clarence Orr guiding officers to him.

Police investigators and experts fear the killer may never be caught and a reward may be posted by the county for 1000 dollars. An additional 300 dollars is offered for the attacker of Bertha Brosowska of Delray.
The Congregational summer assembly at New Buffalo Michigan with delegates from Massachusetts Pennsylvania Ohio Indiana Michigan Wisconsin Illinois Missouri Kansas Nebraska Minnesota and Iowa adopted a resolution endorsing the organic union plan for wider consideration by United Brethren Methodist Protestants and Congregational denominations. The resolution says the plan has unqualified endorsement and could be a step toward Christendom’s reunion. It pledges earnest prayers and efforts to aid the movement begun.
Washington reports post office department orders to establish 66 rural routes in Kent county by Oct 1, covering all rural residents. Gallant teacher Van Dillan of Chicago and Miss Henriatta Wrikkers of Grand Rapids drowned Wednesday afternoon when their boat struck a log on Black Lake. Wrikkers fell in and Dillan leaped after her. both could not swim and died before help arrived. Bodies recovered within 30 minutes.
In Cheyenne an officer guarding captured Ecklund alias George Johnson linked to grand larceny escaped after Ecklund freed himself, then left the smoking car. Trainmen delayed the officer until Sydney, and Marsden was released to continue pursuit toward Laramie. Washington Schell of 679 Williams Ave Detroit died when six stories fell from an elevator shaft in Hannan & Futt's Lenox Building. He and brother in law T P Groat had been placing iron work. Schell toppled from planks as he hauled one up, struck a beam and crushed his skull, dying instantly.
