Court hands down sentences for Watkins case in Aug 1829
In August 1829 the court overruled objections to indictments and granted sentencing. Watkins faced three counts with penalties totaling fines of 740, 300, and 2000 dollars and corresponding three month imprisonments. After sentencing the court adjourned after a lengthy term.
