Federal Republicans Plan Township Delegates Meeting in Gettysburg

The Federal Republicans of Adams County call township voters to elect two delegates per township on September 5 at the usual election place. Delegates meet at Gettysburg Court House on the following Monday, September 7, to prepare and recommend suitable candidates for the next election.

Court hands down sentences for Watkins case in Aug 1829

In August 1829 the court overruled objections to indictments and granted sentencing. Watkins faced three counts with penalties totaling fines of 740, 300, and 2000 dollars and corresponding three month imprisonments. After sentencing the court adjourned after a lengthy term. An assay note compared Spanish dollar parts to current circulation values.
