Miss Daisy Moore schedules a sale of home mate fancy articles at her Water Street home on Saturday afternoon and evening December 10. The Lutheran Mite Society reported a successful measure social at Odd Fellows Hall last Saturday raising 76 dollars in gross receipts.
Dec. 2 report from Kingsdale notes Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Sheely and child visiting the Crouses. Ethel Bowman and daughter at George Bowers in Littlestown. Lemmon family and Minnie Anthony with J. E. Bowers clan. Stear family near St. John’s Church with Horner. Crouses and Bowes hosted Thanksgiving via Crouse family. J. B. King host near St. James Church.
Rev Cauffman begins a two week revival at the Mennonite church with daily services. Local residents James and Fred Mackley travel to Fountain Dale for vacation. Mahlon Shue leaves for New Holland for the winter. David Koser schedules Sunday evening services at 7. Bishop Brubaker from Lancaster County to lead Saturday 2 pm service for ministerial election. the winner to be installed Sunday at 10 am. Harry Melhorn returns to Scarb000? West Virginia after visiting his brother Eugene Melton.
Letters from Buchanan Valley recount visits by Lawrence and James Cole of Fayetteville and other relatives. Hunters from Gettysburg and Clearfield County join the Kane Club in deer chasing, with Abner Kump scoring a spike buck. Thanksgiving gatherings at Arendtsville Camp and exchanges of venison highlight a busy local week as residents travel, hunt, and share meals.
In Barlow on December 2 the rain brings relief after months of drought. A drowned cow owner John Arentz lost his valuable cow last Wednesday. Gettysburg Prep visitors Clarence Smith and Cessner stayed at Silas Horner’s home. Nelson Sharett spent Sunday in Gettysburg visiting Jacob Sharett. Mt. Joy services scheduled for Sunday with a 10 am sermon and 9 am Sunday School. A Christmas rehearsal is planned for Saturday evening. Franklin S. Cromer mislaid his false teeth in a corn field while husking. A dog accompanying him may have misplaced them, as all sheaves were searched without success.
Sunday visitors gathered at the Kepner home including Hazel and Rena Watson Iva Kepner and John Watson of Waynesboro, with Har vy Dagwall from near Gettysburg. Local residents James Shover and John Kint hosted, and many others such as Elmer Bennett and Rev Joseph Chamberlain were noted visitors or movers.

East Berlin reports a Red Men’s Hall supper raising 76 dollars and upcoming December 1st Protestant meetings at the Lutheran church. A new heating stove was provided for the Reformed church Sunday school room by William Resser. Wesley Wolf threshes 40 bushels in 40 minutes near Hampton. Ethel Mummert may return to school next week. Ezra Burgard shows improvement. County Institute attracts teachers while students enjoy vacation. Rev. Stokes to preach at Evangelical church next Sunday at 2 p.m. All are invited to attend.
Last Satur day the house and lot of Mrs. Susannah Lupp was sold at public outcry to Harry Thomas for 810. Amos D. Sheely lost a valuable cow and Abie L. Carbaugh and David Thomas each lost a hog. Tuesday brought about two inches of snow enjoyed by rabbit hunters. Myron Knouss, son of doting Knouss, shot a five pound rabbit, his first. Mrs. Elsie Lerew of York Springs visited her grandmother Mrs. Augustus Lerew. Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. E. Coc and son of Chambersburg visited in town. Miss Tive B. Small and Miss Theresa Hendricks of York Springs visited the Hughes home. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Black of Fayetteville spent Sunday with Mrs. S. O. Reed. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Minter of Newark spent a day with Dr. and Mrs. Merriman.
In Biglerville on Sunday the Knights of the Golden Eagle attended service at the Biglerville Lutheran church led by Rev. C. F. Floto. Afterward George Slaybaugh, recently hurt, received 810.00 donated by visiting members. Merz Brothers ship evaporated apples. Mrs. Amos Minter hosted Sunday School class dinner. locals update houses and farms with renovations and peeling for Musselman Canning Company, including Mrs. Al. Fidler peeling multiple loads.
Liberty Hall December notes list residents visiting relatives and friends over the weekend. Harvey Sites left Priday for Chicago after months with his parents. Several families from Taneytown and Greenmount hosted and visited, while Parke Plank returned home from Taneytown. Public school children enjoyed a week of vacation as teachers attended Gettysburg and Brua Chapel services.

Miss Lottie McCauslin visits her sister Mrs Harry Kobler Millersville. Miss Carrie Fainertock from near Mt Holly visits friends here. Elmer Baldwin wife and Margie visit Mervin Black and family. John Stover of Boyds and James Wingert of Buchanan Valley visit Lines in Warren. Henry Black and Harry Showers butchered Wednesday.

William Heller and Harvey Shimp of Harrisburg spent Thanksgiving with Wilson O. Heller family. Charles Cline of East Berlin visited Wednesday and Thursday. The infant son of Edward Spertzel and wife was buried in Evangelical cemetery Sunday afternoon. Miss Lillie Groupe spent Saturday in Carlisle. Frank Gardner returned home from Cornwall Saturday evening after a summer there. Minnie Bolan of Shippensburg spent Saturday and Sunday with Ruth Crist. Mrs Samuel Webb and daughter Reba spent Wednesday in Carlisle. Walter McBeth of route 1 had a four prong buck on the South Mountain Tuesday. Ethel M Groupe spent Saturday with Estella Tate of York Springs route 5.
Crist Pittenturf and family spent last Saturday in Carlisle with a Thanksgiving dinner hosted by J. W. Slaybaugh. Attendees included Edward T. Slaybaugh of Philadelphia Addison Leer of Hunterstown Earl Delp and family Orpheus Golden and family Charles Slaybaugh Adam T. Slaybaugh and Miss Sadia Slaybaugh. Curtis Golden also visited Mt. Holly Springs with John W. Mears and wife.
Miss Maude Wierman visits Mrs. William J. Smyser in York while Mrs. Laura Linaweaver from Mechanicsburg stays with her mother Mrs. Myera. Raymond Starry recovers from pneumonia. B R Guest from New York hunts deer on South Mountain with Associate Judge Dicks. William M. Gardner of Pittsburgh visits his brother G Kenton Gardner at Sulphur Springs Farm.
New Chester dated Dec 2 records Ross Met horn of York visiting grandparents J C Leivelsberger and others. A string of relatives and friends from Hanover York Abbottstown Dillsburg and nearby towns are noted visiting family members and attending a large Thanksgiving gathering hosted by K J Waltman and family.
Kralltown area notes show Mrs J C Bak visiting Dover, the Myers family and others visiting Mumper near Bermudian, gatherings at Deardorff and Griffin households, and dances and visits by multiple families including New Oxford and Wellsville. One buggy collision near Red Mount caused a horse to bolt but no injuries. Samuel Baker is on the sick list. Rev Mr Stoke and Mrs Mower visited local families.
York Springs and nearby towns report a flurry of short homecomings and visits. George Trimmer of Lancaster returned for a Sunday at home while Charles Walls of Dillaburg stayed with friends in the area. Daisy Miller of Harrisburg visited her parents, the Millers, and C D Gardner with wife and daughter from Carlisle spent Thanksgiving with Anna Wonner. Ruth Myers of Littlestown came home for Sunday, and C E Knaub with wife joined Milton and his wife near Heidlersburg for Thanksgiving. George Emmert Jr from Dickinson College was home briefly, and George Frommeyer and wife spent Tuesday with Linus Weaver near Littletown.
